The switches in the main admin building in work are old 3COMS they are long past their end of life.
So it’s time to upgrade them to something more modern.
Looking at our options we decided on Aruba’s 2930’s.
This is the current comms cabinet. Yes I know its a mess, it was like this when I first started in this job.
The location of the comms cabinet is not great, it’s right below two sets of toilets.
Twice in the past 6 months water has dripped into the cabinet from the toilets.
We have decided to rewire the whole office to the server room into a nice new cabinet.
The switches took about 4 months to come in, due to the current chip problems.
We went for 4X Aruba 2930M’s in a stack.
